Natural Breaks
Slapton Ley Field Centre is located only a stones throw from Slapton Sands on the unspoilt South Devon coastline. It is surrounded by the stunning Slapton Ley National Nature Reserve. Owned by the Whitley Wildlife Trust and managed by the Centre, the Ley is the largest freshwater lake in the south west separated from the sea by a 3 ½ kilometre beach. Dartmoor National park is also a short drive away.
The Field Centre has simple, comfortable accommodation, mostly in a mix of twin and family rooms. All bedrooms have wash hand basins, with toilet and shower facilities close by. Please click here to see the inside of the centre. It is located next to the village of Slapton with local amenities including two pubs and a village shop.
Slapton Ley is part of the Field Studies Council, an environmental education charity dedicated to helping people of all ages to experience the environment at first hand; to discover, explore and be inspired by the natural world.
For Natural Breaks, the Centre is open to the public for bed and breakfast accommodation, enabling people to independently explore and learn about the beautiful area surrounding the Centre. To help do this, guests are invited to participate in free activities on the beach and around the nature reserve.
