Field Studies Council: Bringing Environmental Understanding to All

Freelance Writing: Wildlife and the Environment

  • Non-Resident: £172
  • Shared Room: £220
  • Sole Occupancy: £240

Magazine editors are always on the lookout for ‘experts’ to write about their special interests. If you care about the environment or any aspect of it and want to get your ideas published, this course will help you develop and structure a feature and identify a suitable outlet.

We will use the natural environment around Flatford Mill for inspiration.

The course will explore contributing features to magazines and newspapers, including approaching editors, developing research skills and exploring specific issues such as eco-tourism. Enthusiasm for your special interest is more valid than having already been published!

The content is also appropriate for anyone wishing to contribute to their Continuing Professional Development (CPD) requirements.

Susan Grossman is a freelance journalist, broadcaster and photographer of over 20 years standing. She has been a broadcaster for the BBC, written travel guides, edited books, magazines and travel columns.

She has developed a unique and lively approach to improving writing skills and getting published.
