Mammal Identification Weekend

Ideal for all levels of experience from beginners through to those looking to further develop their skills, this two and a half day residential course in beautiful surroundings is an excellent, in depth introduction to the techniques used to spot mammals in their habitat including sightings, calls and field signs. In the classroom you will cover identification techniques for each terrestrial species and learn how to put your skills into practice by recording mammals in the field. The course also includes practical sessions in the field and lab, including small mammal trapping and owl pellet analysis.
You will have the chance to sit an optional assessment, which, if passed, will earn you a Certificate in Basic Mammal Identification jointly accredited by The Mammal Society and the Field Studies Council.
