This course will provide a solid grounding in a wide variety of sampling and surveying techniques for a wide variety of invertebrates. The course will be useful for both amateur naturalists and professional ecologists looking to expand their experience and knowledge. In addition the course will also provide a taster experience for accessible and popular groups including moths, butterflies, dragonflies, hoverflies, grasshoppers, beetles and bugs and there will be time devoted to identification of captured specimens. The course will include field excursions to search for some of the special invertebrates of the region.
