Identification of Macrofungi

This is a training course on the identification of the larger fungi. It is intended for ‘experienced’ beginners interested in learning scientific identification procedures through use of keys and microscopy. The mixture of forays to collect (with guidance on how to collect, observe and record in the field) and laboratory sessions will ensure that participants are able to place fungi into correct major groups and identify many common fungi to at least genus level.

Irene Ridge is an Honorary Reader in biology with the Open University and a member of the British Mycological Society. She is an experienced teacher and foray leader.
