Professional Development Course.
How to make the most of outdoor learning through environmental/ adventurous activities linked to the theme of sustainability.
Exploring : personal and social development opportunities and approaches to sustainability and creativity through the outdoor classroom.
The course will provide a comprehensive introduction to the management of groups outside the classroom, including risk assessment of a range of activities. Participants will gain hands-on experience of activities linked to the key themes. These activities will include team/problem solving, shelter building/firelighting, personal challenge, and the exploration of local habitats and the possibilities for conservation. Completion of the course will be recognized by a 'Certificate of Attendance' which could be used in conjunction with other training providers. All of the courses are sponsored by the FSC. The price includes board and accommodation. The only expense that we do not cover is travel to and from the Centre.
Qualified and experienced FSC staff will tutor the course.
