FSC Castle Head has 19 dormitory rooms and nine single or twin rooms. Two of these rooms are suitable for disabled visitors. Accommodation is arranged in separate corridors and for security all bedrooms and external doors are controlled by keypad locks.

There are five workrooms all with digital projectors. Castle Head also hosts the Life Science Centre; an industrial standard laboratory, using state of the art equipment, allowing students to experience what its like to be a real scientist.

The centre has a range of recreational areas including: two common rooms with hot and cold drink making facilities, table tennis tables and a variety of games; a TV lounge; two drying rooms and a sports hall with basketball and climbing wall facilities. There is also a visiting staff lounge with an open fire, a tuck shop and a payphone.

Within the grounds the centre has a range of adventure facilities within the grounds including rope courses, obstacle courses, climbing and abseiling facilities and an orienteering course. The River Winster runs through the centre grounds and is used for rafting and canoeing. The centre has equipment hire for those needing waterproofs and wellington boots.
