FSC Malham Tarn has eight dormitory rooms  and 21 single or twin rooms. 21 of these rooms are en-suite and one of these is designed for disabled visitors. The centre has three separate buildings allowing different groups to be accommodated separately. For security all bedrooms and external doors have key-coded locks.

The centre has five workrooms fully equipped with computers, projectors, interactive whiteboards and internet access, as well as whiteboard for writing on. There is also a soils/water laboratory, a library and a small computer suite.
The centre has a range of recreation facilities. There are two common rooms with TVs, recreation areas containing a pool table, table football and board games, a library and tea room with hot and cold drink making facilities. Outside relaxation areas include a courtyard with veranda and picnic benches, a lawn and walled garden.

There is also a drying room, equipment hire for those who need waterproofs and boots, a tuck shop a weather station and a publications shop.

The centre is located within the Malham Tarn National Nature Reserve. It occupies a woodland setting with stunning views over Malham Tarn and offers a tranquil sense of remoteness. The grounds include a complex of wetland areas and the Limestone features of Malham Cove and Goredale Scar are within walking distance.
